1. To promote the concept of village stay for visitors to receive comfortable lodging and experiential learning about the local history, in-depth experience of the environment, culture, tradition and spirituality associated with the places visited
  2. To design, develop, modify, diversify community tourism products that enrich the visitor’s experience qualitatively and enhance local community incomes and other benefits
  3. To mobilize resources towards construction and establishment of Ateker Museum
  4. To collect, document, catalogue and exhibit artefacts and works of art that showcase the history, cultures, traditions and evolution of the Ateker group of people
  5. To co-operate with other organizations and institutions with similar aims and objectivesIn addition, AVS has embarked on the development of a community museum known as “Ateker Museum”. Initial activities/achievements include:
    • Designation of place
    • Collection of artefacts (95 in number from Teso, Karamoja & Turkana)
    • Cataloguing and displaying the artefacts
    • Conducting regular exhibitions
    • Acquired land to build appropriate premises and facilities
    • Constructed a relief map showing features in areas inhabited by the Ateker people and their neighborhoods
